Aroid Mix 7L Bag
Aroid Mix 7L Bag
Couldn't load pickup availability
Aroids didn't evolve in dense potting mix, and most potting mixes forget that.
What it is
A chunky, bark-based blend made from orchid bark, composted bark, coco coir, perlite and horticultural charcoal.
What it does
Provides the airflow aroid roots need while holding enough moisture between waterings.
What it isn't
No peat and no added fertiliser. You stay in control of how and when you feed your plants.
Best for
Monstera, Philodendron, Syngonium, Epipremnum, Scindapsus, Anthurium and Alocasia.
How far it goes
7L fills approximately 3 to 5 pots (150mm size).
Built for the way aroids grow
In nature, climbing aroids grow through bark, leaf litter and loose organic matter, with plenty of air around their roots. Standard potting mix is often the opposite: fine, dense and prone to compacting over time.
This mix is designed to recreate the open, airy conditions aroids prefer.
- Orchid bark and composted bark provide structure and support for roots.
- Perlite helps maintain airflow and prevents compaction.
- Coco coir retains moisture without becoming waterlogged.
- Horticultural charcoal supports drainage and helps keep the mix open.
The result is a coarse, free-draining mix that stays moist without staying saturated.
No hidden feeding schedule
We've intentionally left out slow-release fertilisers. There are no fertiliser pellets mixed through the media, so you can decide exactly what nutrients your plants receive and when.
Treated for fungus gnats
This mix contains Acelepryn GR, a granular horticultural insecticide included to help control fungus gnat larvae in the growing media. We'd rather prevent the problem before it reaches your home.
When to use it
Ideal for repotting established aroids or replacing nursery media that stays wet and compacted for too long. Not every nursery mix needs replacing, but if drainage and airflow are lacking, this mix provides a more suitable environment for healthy root growth.
